A TRIBUTE TO OUR BROTHER SCOTT HEY
On August 12, 2017, cancer grabbed another amazing human being from us. Scott Hey was more than a friend and more than a brother. He was one of those people who was always there when you need him around and somehow always had the right words to share. I first met Scott sometime around 1983 when I was new to recovery. He was one of the very first people to accept me for being me and he helped me realize that it was OK for me to be me. In 1984 I started prospecting for the Phoenix MC, a club of motorcyclist who are in recovery. A year later when I was voted in as a full charter member of the club, Scott handed me my patch. To say that he and I rode together a lot would be a gross understatement. Scott was on point and I was always to his left. We rode so much that each knew what the other was about to do before either of us flinched.
Scott's life revolved around three things; his recovery, his family, and his friends. Beth, Christine, and Renee were the world to him. They each carry on his legacy in her own special way.
Scott, we all love you brother.
